LVHA Philanthropy

One of the goals of LVHA is to be a leader in philanthropic gifts and scholarships to the Southern Nevada Community and the Travel and Tourism Industry.  LVHA has established Scholarhship Programs and Endowments as well as many individual scholarships honoring our industry professionals.

LVHA has raised over $700,000 for scholarships and charities and is constantly working to fulfill its goal to make education a priority within the growing needs of our industry, organization and community. To accomplish our goals, we have established the following programs:

Child of LVHA has been successful in helping our members’ children to continue their education at colleges and universities of their choice. This program awards four $2,500 scholarships each year.

LVHA Continuing Education Scholarship is available for members of LVHA to continue their education in accredited college or certified professional programs (such as certified exhibit manager, certified meeting planner) or pursuing a hospitality related course of study (hotel administration, sales, transportation, marketing, special events, production, etc.).  This program awards up to four $500 scholarships each year.

LVHA has established ten $10,000 endowments and many scholarship programs for students and LVHA members.  LVHA has also recognized members of the LVHA association with $40,000 scholarship awards in their names at CSN.

The NAFBS scholarship was established to help the spouse of an active duty enlisted military member based at Nellis Air Force Base continue their education by obtaining a GED, College, Trade or Graduate School degree. This program awards up to ten $500 scholarships each year.

AOHT scholarship assists seniors in the Tour and Travel Program at Valley High School with continuing their education at a major university or college anywhere in the United States.  This program awards up to ten $1,000 scholarships each year.

LVHA has established a $50,000 Endowment that funds UNLV Students attending the William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration.

LHVA has established a $30,000 LVHA Endowment and Scholarship Fund at PEF.

LVHA has been a strong community supporter of charities such as Three Square, Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, Olive Crest, Golden Rainbow, Shade Tree, Toys for Tots, Child Haven and more.  LVHA has also established its own programs by adopting a school during the holidays through the “Fill a Bag with Cheer” campaign to make sure every child receives shoes, coats, toys, etc.
